Welcome to RARING READERS, the Patron of Reading blog of Captain’s Close Primary School in Asfordby, Leicestershire. This is where
you’ll find the latest news on what I’m doing with the school and reviews of some brilliant books that I think you might enjoy.
It’s your blog as much as mine, so whether you’re a student, a teacher, a member of staff or a parent at the school, I’d love to hear
from you. You can put a message in the comments section beneath each post or, if you , you can write a guest post.

THE KING OF SPACE • Rapid Review by Jonathan

My first rapid review is of The King of Space, a picture book written and illustrated by Jonny Duddle.

You can find out more about this book and see some of the illustrations on this page on Jonny Duddle's web site. And there are some King of Space activity sheets that you can download for free on this page.

You can download King of Space activity sheets
from Jonny Duddle's web site.

I hope you love this book as much as I do. When you've read it, let me know what you think of it – good or bad – by leaving a comment on this post.

  1. We loved reading this book, so much so that we thought it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

We felt we were like the main character of Rex at times, as we can be bossy too at home sometimes. However, we're glad that we don't have to shovel Moog dung!

Our teacher also made us act out the part when the Moogs float around in space, wondering what's going on before the galactic alliance arrived. It made a very entertaining sight for anyone walking past our classroom at the time!

We are keen to read some more of Jonny's books now.

    Love Swallows Class.

    1. Thanks for commenting, Swallows!

I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this book. I wish I'd seen you pretending to be moogs. Perhaps you can show me on my next visit.
